About Formentera from Menorca: the back story

Formentera is reached from Ibiza: Baleària gives the crossing as 30 minutes, with departures every 45 minutes (balearia.com). In the Ses Salines natural park, anchor only on sand, never on the Posidonia, and the mud of Espalmador’s lagoon is off limits (caib.es).

Getting there

Ferry from Maó to Ibiza (Trasmed), then 30 minutes from Ibiza to La Savina (Baleària).

Ses Illetes

The long white sand spit at the north of the island.

Bathing in or using the mud of Espalmador’s lagoon is prohibited (Ses Salines natural park).

The rules

Anchor on sand only; bathing in Espalmador’s lagoon mud is prohibited (caib.es).

Our advice: stay a night in Ibiza and take an early boat across.
